Patient Care Services
GW MFA’s Cancer Center is a comprehensive clinic dedicated to the detection and treatment of cancer and blood disorders and the provision of bone marrow transplants. Specifically, we offer the following services in conjunction with GW’s Division of Hematology and Oncology:
-
The Cancer Center provides comprehensive management of all oncologic disorders. Outpatient chemotherapy, blood transfusions, parenteral nutrition and intravenous antibiotic therapy are offered. Specialized cancer treatment protocols for patients with acute oncologic problems including acute leukemia and complex neoplastic disorders are also provided. The Cancer Center is a member of the Eastern Cooperative Oncologic Group (ECOG) .
-
Our clinical coagulation services help in the treatment of patients with coagulation problems including hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, platelet disorders and thrombotic disorders. We are also involved in anticoagulation problems and their complications.
-
The Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit does both autologous and allogenic transplants on patients with leukemia, lymphomas and selected tumors. The Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit also participates in ECOG.
-
Finally, comprehensive hematology services are offered in the management of patients with red cell, white cell or platelet disorders. Sickle cell anemia and other hemoglobinopathies, myeloproliferative diseases and myelodysplasia are also cared for.
